Robin Melton Appointed to Watershed Committee of the Ozarks Board

SPRINGFIELD, MO – Robin Melton, Owner and President of Environmental Works, Inc., has been selected by Springfield City Manager Bob Cumley to serve on the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks Board for a three year term.  Melton was appointed to the board as a result of her strong commitment to preserve and improve Springfield and Greene County water supplies.

She had previously served as a member of the steering committee for the Watershed Center at Valley Water Mill, which is one of the Committee’s key projects currently under development.  “The Watershed Center will connect people to local watersheds by providing opportunities to experience water protection demonstrations, discuss aspects of water conversation, demonstrate sustainable design, and teach people how to protect our precious water supply,” said Melton.

Melton will be part of the non-profit corporation’s six-member board comprised of three citizen appointees representing the respective sponsors and three at-large positions.  “I believe she will be an excellent addition to this Committee,” said City Manager Bob Cumley upon appointing Melton to the board.  In addition to the Watershed Committee Board, Melton also gives back to the community by serving as a board member for the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Urban Neighborhoods Alliance and the Jordan Valley Innovation Center, Inc.  EWI is also a corporate sponsor of the James River Basin Partnership.
