Statewide
Hazardous Substance Services Contract
SPRINGFIELD, MO - Environmental Works,
Inc. (EWI) was one of four firms to be awarded an estimated $1.5 million
contract by the State of Missouri to provide hazardous substance cleanup
and disposal services on a statewide level. The contract is effective
September 1, 2007 through August 21, 2008.
Under the contract, EWI will provide emergency response services for
the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and non-emergency services
for various state agencies. The contract work will be executed
from the company headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, as well as
the Rolla, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas regional office locations. The
firm has appointed Shawn Jester, operations manager and head of field
services, to direct and supervise the work under the agreement.

upon our extremely strong track record in the arena of emergency response
services,” said Jester. “We look forward to continuing
the great work we have been doing to support our customers whenever
and wherever we are needed.”
The contract covers the cleanup and
disposal of hazardous substances which are a danger to the environment
or threat to human health in the State of Missouri. In addition,
EWI will provide the cleanup and removal of hazardous substances which
are discovered in, on, or about containers, buildings, or any other
location where these substances may appear.
Additional contract requirements include:
- Response to all hazardous substance emergencies must be initiated
within one hour.
- Emergency services must be available on a 24 hour/7 day per week
basis.
- For each project, the firm must provide a complete report of all
on-site activities to the state agency no later than 30 calendar
days following completion of the project.
