EXPERIENCE SUMMARY:
Ms. Gonder has more than 22 years of experience as
a geologist, with 15 years of experience in the environmental consulting
field. She
has performed technical and management assignments in environmental
projects ranging from multi-site environmental site assessments to
RCRA facility investigations. Ms. Gonder is also responsible
for developing and conducting training programs covering various
environmental regulatory programs and for providing compliance assistance
to EWI’s clients across the United States.
KEY
PROJECT SUMMARY:
Ms.
Gonder is currently a Principal Scientist and the Division Manager – Railroad
Services for EWI. As such, she is responsible for providing technical
and regulatory assistance and for managing personnel working
on BNSF projects.
Ms. Gonder
has developed and conducted training programs to cover such topics
as RCRA, Oil Pollution Act, CWA, DOT, OSHA, quality assurance/quality
control, and environmental awareness. These training programs
are typically client-specific, and include classroom-type training
as well as performance-based training. Ms. Gonder also
developed supporting materials, such as training manuals, standard
operating procedures, and other guidance documents for use by
trainees during and after their initial training was completed.
Ms. Gonder
was the project manager for the successful remediation and closure
of a site which formerly housed a one-million gallon fuel number
6 oil AST. The site was located in a commercial area and
was found to be heavily impacted. As Project Manager, Ms.
Gonder was responsible for developing a work plan for the site,
negotiating and coordinating site activities with MDNR, acting
as the liaison between adjacent landowners, developing site-specific
health and safety procedures, and implementing remediation. Ms.
Gonder also developed a sampling plan which allowed the client
to minimize soil excavation while still meeting MDNR’s
requirements for the site. No further action was granted
by MDNR for this site shortly after remedial activities were
completed. The site is now a viable commercial property.
