Buried Drum Site Remediation

Buried drums of hazardous waste from a major manufacturing company in southwest Missouri were discovered at an off-site location. MDNR and USEPA Region VII conducted a Site Assessment and placed the site on the CERCLIS list. EWI was retained by the manufacturing facility to manage the investigation and remediation of the site. Constituents of concern included volatile and semivolatile compounds and metals. EWI completed a comprehensive investigation which included a geophysical survey. EWI developed a remediation plan, which was approved by MDNR and EPA. Upon completion of remedial activities, the site was granted closure by regulatory agencies and removed from CERCLIS list.
