This Year in EWI Emergency Response Services

As we look back on this year, one thing is certain: 2020 was a year unlike any other. The COVID-19 crisis rocked the globe, but we here at Environmental Works remained committed to the safety and compliance of our clients. This year, that commitment included devoting additional resources to our emergency response team. Read on to find out more about our year in emergency response (ER) services, including regional expansion and our unprecedented COVID-19 response.

This Year in EWI Emergency Response Services

General Response Services

Before we dive into our emergency response services during this past year, let’s review EWI’s extensive background in environmental response. Since 1992, our emergency response team has responded to a wide variety of environmental emergencies across the nation. These emergencies include everything from diesel fuel tank spills and marine emergencies to hazardous material decontamination. For nearly three decades, our emergency response team has been on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We can respond at a moment’s notice to quickly assess your unique incident. At that point, we can provide a complete response to reduce the incident’s environmental impact. This year, that quick response time has been more important than ever before.

Expanding ER Services in 2020

Even before the COVID-19 crisis, EWI has been focused on expanding our emergency response services. For example, this year, we moved a longtime employee with extensive emergency response experience to our Denver office. We also hired a Denver emergency response team, which is still growing. In the last year alone, we’ve added seven full-time emergency response personnel to our overall team. This helps increase our company’s emergency expertise across all service areas. With every new employee, we gain another expert who can reduce our emergency response times and increase the effectiveness of our services.

Emergency Response and COVID-19

As the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted business operations around the globe, EWI sprang into action. Now, after months of experience and innovation, our team can assist clients with any COVID-related emergency. First, should your facility be directly impacted by the virus, we can respond to decontaminate and sanitize your property. We can also provide crucial preventative sanitation services. This involves sanitizing surfaces to reduce your team’s exposure to potentially harmful viruses and bacteria. Decontamination and sanitization involve deploying an EPA-listed disinfectant to kill the COVID-19 virus, using germ foggers and powerful electrostatic sprayers, and assessing your individual needs to keep customers and staff safe. Our experts wear full personal protective equipment to ensure client safety as we’re averaging five to six COVID responses per day. We completed more than 300 COVID-19 responses this year.

_____

This year has been our busiest year ever for emergency response, and we couldn’t be prouder of the work EWI has done. We’ve been honored to work with national retailers and even the federal government, protecting countless employees and customers from the harmful and deadly COVID-19 virus. It may be difficult to plan for what comes next in 2021, but rest assured that EWI is ready for any and all emergencies that might come your way.
